Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto may now be richer than Dell CEO Michael Dell

A recent analysis by Arkham Intelligence and Forbes highlights a stunning shift in the fortunes of the world’s richest individuals.

With Bitcoin trading around $118,000 per coin, Satoshi’s estimated holdings of approximately 1.1 million BTC are valued at about $129 billion. That places Nakamoto’s net worth above that of Michael Dell, whose fortune currently stands close to $125 billion.

Bitcoin recently surged, setting a new all-time high near $118,839, representing a 26% gain year-to‑date and more than doubling (+105%) over the past year. At this valuation, Satoshi now ranks among the top global wealthiest individuals.

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas notes that if Bitcoin continues growing at its historical pace—approaching annual 50% gains—Satoshi could potentially outpace even Warren Buffett ($143 billion) and Mark Zuckerberg ($251 billion). However, these projections remain speculative and depend heavily on Bitcoin’s volatile trajectory.

The exact extent of Nakamoto’s holdings is uncertain; estimates range from 750,000 to 1.1 million BTC, based on mining patterns and dormant early wallets. These coins, untouched since around 2010, account for roughly 5% of all Bitcoin in circulation.

Satoshi’s unheard-from status fuels both intrigue and market stability: if they were to liquidate even a fraction of their hoard, the impact could be seismic—but the assumption remains that those coins are forever inert.

This milestone underscores Bitcoin’s extraordinary rise—from a niche experiment to a vehicle generating future billionaires. Whether Satoshi is a single person or a group, this wealth milestone surpassing established tech tycoons sparks renewed fascination with the crypto pioneer—and the profound impact of digital assets on global wealth dynamics.
