Elon Musk has announced that Grok 4, the next version of his AI chatbot developed by xAI, will be released shortly after July 4, 2025.
In a highly anticipated update, Musk revealed that Grok 4, the next-generation AI model from his company xAI, will be released shortly after Independence Day, July 4, 2025. The announcement came via Musk’s own X account, where he highlighted key improvements in the upcoming version.
Musk emphasized that Grok 4 will offer significantly enhanced reasoning and coding abilities, as well as multimodal capabilities—meaning it will be able to handle both text and image inputs more efficiently. This upgrade is expected to align Grok 4 with the top-tier AI models currently on the market, such as OpenAI’s GPT-4.5, Anthropic’s Claude 3, and Google’s Gemini 1.5.
Grok has been integrated directly into the X platform (formerly Twitter), and the launch of Grok 4 could further deepen that integration. Musk has previously stated that xAI is aiming to create a “maximum truth-seeking AI” that avoids political bias and censorship, positioning Grok as a more open alternative to existing AI assistants.
